Professional Summary

Mr. Bell recently retired from Ontario Power Generation after 34 years of service in the nuclear component of the Utility. Mr. Bell spent 18 years at the Bruce Site. During his time there he worked at Bruce Nuclear Power Development Services, Bruce Nuclear Generating Station “B” (BNGS”B”), Western Nuclear Training Centre and BNGS “A”. Mr. Bell was then assigned to Ontario Hydro’s Nuclear Head Office, the Heath Physics Department in Whitby, Pickering Nuclear Generation Station B Radiation Protection (RP) and finally to Ontario Power Generation’s (OPG) Nuclear Head Office in Pickering to Manage the Emergency Preparedness (EP) department.

During his many RP assignments throughout his career, Mr. Bell gained experience in all aspects of Health Physics/Radiation Protection including field supervision of RP staff, project management and training. As the programs section manager and later, department manager, significant experience was acquired in EP drills and exercises, procedures, audits and evaluations, emergency response standards and guidelines, the transportation emergency response program and major EP projects.

During his time working at seven different nuclear reactors in Canada, Mr. Bell has become an expert in radiation detection and decontamination techniques. His radiation protection expertise is used to ensure all procedures and training are current and effective.
