Dr. Kelly Forbes
Dr. Kelly Forbes has over 18 years of consulting experience in the area of cognitive and behavioural psychology. Dr. Forbes is a Certified Modelling and Simulation Professional (CMSP) and a current member of the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society (HFES). She obtained a 4 year B.A. (Hons) in Psychology with a thesis from Brock University (1991). Subsequently, she earned a M.Sc. (1993) and a Ph.D. in Psychology (1998) with a concentration in psychophysiology within the Life Sciences domain from Dalhousie University.
She is an expert in providing evaluation services for large multi-national exercises and experiments. Dr. Kelly Forbes has 17 years of experience in the area of process evaluation, specifically human factors, and is a Certified Modeling and Simulation Professional (CMSP). Dr. Forbes has extensive experience working with CBRN responders to design metrics for response organizations to use to effectively evaluate training, operations and exercises. This scientific approach provides a quantitative method for improving processes, procedures and overall response to organizations. These processes enable organizations to collect more useful information from all exercises and also assist in the implementation of continual improvement. She designed the evaluation methodologies for complex experiments like the Canada/US Cross Border Resiliency Experiment (CAUSE) series, CAPEX CBRNE exercise 2015, and over 15 other small to large scale exercises.
