Dr. Gordon Burton
CBRN Emergency Medicine
Dr. Burton is a LRCP (Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians of London, 1983) and a MRCS (Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of London, 1983) and holds a MSc in Radiobiology from St Bartholomews Hospital & Medical School in London, UK (1992). He also holds a DFFP (Diploma in Family Planning, College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, London) and a LMCC (Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada, 2001). Dr. Burton is a Member of the Society of Occupational Medicine Canada (2002).
Dr. Burton has extensive experience in the CBRN and emergency response disciplines and has served as senior Medical Officer and senior radiation medicine specialist, RAF Waddington, and as a Royal Air Force Medical Officer from 1981 to 1996.
He is a specialist in Radiation Medicine and has held positions as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Medical Operations (Countermeasures), specifically NBC, Canadian Forces Military Headquarters, Department of National Defence Canada (June 2002 – 2005). Dr. Burton has served as a member of the NARO (Nuclear Accident Response Organisation), a military and civilian organisation that would respond to any nuclear weapons accident incidents.
