Amal Lekorchi, EIT
Radiation Safety Analyst
Amal holds a Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa. She is registered with the Professional Engineers Ontario as an Engineering Intern (EIT). From 2016 to 2017, Amal worked as an Emergency Exercise Designer at International Safety Research (ISR). She supported the technical development of all-hazards emergency management exercises (including radiological and nuclear scenarios). Amal is now working as a Radiation Safety Analyst for ISR: she is supporting nuclear and radiation safety studies. She is also developing high quality scientific and technical documentation.
Prior to joining ISR in 2016, Amal completed two work terms in the Public Sector. She developed strong professional and interpersonal skills while working alongside engineers, scientists, technical staff and administrators on a daily basis. Amal undertook several analyses on the long distance transport of thermal energy, the development of greenhouse gas (GHG) cost curves for option evaluation and the environmental impact of district energy projects with different energy inputs. She also participated in several site visits to help analyzing mechanical systems and conducting surveys to estimate costs for changing the systems from steam to low temperature hot water.
